About the role

The Clinical Education Manager is responsible for the operational management of clinical education within the School of Health Sciences, providing direct support to Clinical Coordinators across multiple disciplines and ensuring the effective delivery of high-quality clinical placements. The role strengthens partnerships with clinical providers, drives innovation in clinical supervision, and contributes to research in clinical education. Working collaboratively with academic teams and external stakeholders, the position enhances student learning and overall clinical education outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical education programs, ensuring curriculum alignment with industry standards, accreditation requirements, and emerging educational models and technologies.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance processes, support compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements, and manage reporting obligations to internal and external bodies.
  • Provide leadership to the Clinical Education team, contribute to strategic objectives, foster collaboration and excellence, and support initiatives that expand the program’s capacity, reach, and impact.
  • Collaborate with student services to deliver a positive clinical placement experience, use feedback to inform improvements, and ensure effective supervision and ongoing student support throughout placements.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with clinical providers and healthcare organisations, represent the school at professional forums, and promote clinical education initiatives across external networks.
  • Support and develop clinical supervisors and academic staff, contribute to and promote clinical education research, collaborate across disciplines, support teaching and learning activities, and actively participate in broader university initiatives.

Qualifications, skills & experience

  • Possession of a doctoral qualification in a Health Sciences discipline, or equivalent accreditation and standing, with relevant experience.
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA with no notations and/or restrictions.
  • Significant professional clinical experience supported by relevant postgraduate qualifications in Health Sciences.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in organising, managing, and evaluating professional placements across a range of clinical settings.
  • Proven experience in clinical supervision and curriculum development across entrylevel, postgraduate, or professional education.
  • Highly developed understanding of clinical education systems and placement processes within relevant health jurisdictions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with academics, industry partners, and students.
